We specially developed our miniature safety edges (EKS) for applications where short response times are required and only low installation heights are possible. A classic example is their use as anti-pinch sensors on shearing and pinching edges of automatic vehicle doors and windows. However, our miniature safety edges are also ideal as anti-pinch sensors in machine construction, on electrically adjustable furniture, and on modern medical devices. The miniature safety edges easily fit to various bending radii and angles. Anti-pinch sensors can also be assembled by the customer itself for use in interiors.

Safety edges protect shearing and crushing edges against pinching hazards. If the safety edge encounters an obstacle, for example if a hand gets caught in a closing door, the automatic movement is stopped immediately. We offer safety edges as normally open contacts or normally closed chains, depending on the switching principle.

With the SP sensor profile range, Mayser has developed a system specially tailored to the requirements of the door and gate market. The sensor profiles are co-extruded profiles, a design that enables very easy handling and high flexibility. They can be combined with end caps and variable aluminium profiles and can be assembled and installed into fully functional safety edges in no time at all, using a smart plug-in system, without the use of adhesives or additional tools.

DIY plugs and resistors feature high pull-out forces, a non-slip design and a permanent, precise fit. Thanks to protection class IP67, the sensors are completely protected against dust, contact and water jets from any angle.

Where sensors are attached to moving equipment, for instance safety edges on gate wings, signals must be transmitted reliably. This is an application field where the mechanical WLS spiral cable system or the JCM radio system guarantee high availability and robust setup. Both have been specially developed for door and gate applications. Further advantages of both systems are quick and easy installation and maintenance-free design as well as their compatibility with all motor controls on the market.
