International Exhibition for Perimeter Protection, Fencing and Building Security

14 - 16 January 2020 // Nuremberg, Germany

Perimeter Protection Newsroom

5th Perimeter Protection bigger and more international than ever

How can sensitive premises and outdoor boundaries be protected from unauthorised access, break-ins or attacks? This question is not just an issue for municipalities, correctional facilities, airports, ministries and consulates. Effective perimeter protection is an absolute must in the private commercial sector as well. At the fifth round of Perimeter Protection, the international exhibition for perimeter protection, fencing and building security, 135 exhibitors and suppliers will showcase their electronic and mechanical security solutions from 16 to 18 January 2018. As we celebrate this anniversary, we are especially pleased that as well as an increase in the number of visitors of more than 30% over the previous event, the proportion of international companies, at more than 42%, is also much higher than two years ago. A new feature in 2018 will be the Drone Detection & Defence Centre of Excellence, which is located right at the heart of the trade fair action. More than 3,000 trade visitors are expected to flock to Hall 12 of Exhibition Centre Nuremberg.

Thanks to its highly specialised focus, which sets it apart from similar events, the security exhibition Perimeter Protection provides a complete market overview of the existing range of measures to protect site perimeters. Alexander Stein, Exhibition Director Perimeter Protection, is looking forward to three highly exciting days at the event: “The constant development of Perimeter Protection since its premiere in 2010 is simply fantastic. The huge response from the sector shows us that this issue is highly topical and that this dedicated exhibition has meanwhile become the must-do event in the trade fair calendar. In 2018, security experts can look forward to an even more extensive range of active and passive security technology than at previous events. There is also a much more pronounced international flavour. In this context I would like to express my thanks to our two partners, MZT (Association of Metal Fencing Technology) and VfS (Association for Security Technology), for the close cooperation we have enjoyed.”

New special display area “Drone Detection & Defence”

Apart from the highly diverse range of products and services on display, another highlight of the event is the new Centre of Excellence for Drone Detection & Defence, where renowned companies will present their solutions. Alexander Stein: “Drone detection and defence is a significant aspect of perimeter protection and is becoming more and more important. Particularly when it comes to protecting critical infrastructure like prisons for example, appropriate security measures are absolutely essential. This is why we are catering for this highly topical issue through a special display area at the heart of the trade fair action. We are delighted that no less than nine companies will be showcasing their products and solutions at the premiere of this dedicated area.”

The security issues associated with the use of unmanned technologies will be explored at U.T.SEC, a high-calibre conference and trade fair which will take place on 7 and 8. March at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. The latest innovations and future developments relating to drones and unmanned vehicles will be examined in the context of security at this event.

High-calibre congress programme accompanies the event

Also in 2018, trade visitors to Perimeter Protection can again look forward to the accompanying security congress. In a compact presentation format, renowned speakers from various companies, consulting firms and engineering offices will discuss the best options for securing site perimeters. One presentation, for example, will look at the perimeter security of Frankfurt Airport, while another will explore the question of mobile barriers and put the spotlight on protecting major events from vehicle attacks through standard-compliant access protection. Naturally, the topic of drone detection and defence will also be an integral part of the congress. Because of the proximity of the congress rooms to the exhibition, participants can find out about the latest state-of-the-art between presentations or on the third day of the exhibition.
