About the speaker
Wilfried Joswig has been Managing Director of the Verband für Sicherheitstechnik e.V. and the VfS Forum für Sicherheit since 2012.
In his role as Managing Director, he has been connecting the various stakeholders in the security industry for more than 10 years. To this end, he is involved in numerous bodies and committees:
- Member of the Advisory Board of the Northern Business School
- Member of the OPTSAL Advisory Board
- Project management consultant at the IHK
- Participation in various standardisation committees (DIN, VDE)
- Involvement in various research projects on the subject of safety technology
- After completing his training as a telecommunications technician at Deutsche Telekom, Wilfried Joswig graduated with a degree in communications engineering from the Deutsche Telekom University of Applied Sciences. From 1978 to 1988, he planned communications and security technology equipment for military projects as well as control centres for the fire brigade and police at Siemens ESA. Until 1999, W. Joswig worked as a team leader for strategic projects (hospitals, prisons, airports, tunnels) and event rooms at Siemens Gebäudetechnik Nord. At this time, he was already working in various associations and advising engineering firms. He worked as project management director at Siemens AG until 2011, before taking up the post of managing director at VfS.
