On 19 and 20 June 2026, Winsen/Luhe became the focal point of the fencing community: the Fence-Building Championship, held for the first time as an official Connected Event of Perimeter Protection, brought together skilled tradespeople, up-and-coming talent and companies from the sector, sending a strong message about the importance of skilled trades in modern perimeter protection.
Under the motto “On your marks, get set, go!”, participants from all over Germany took part in challenging competitions in the “Rookies”, “Pro” and “Team” categories. The challenges required speed, precision and the highest standards of craftsmanship in the professional installation of fencing systems, assessed by an independent panel of experts according to criteria such as workmanship, safety and time.
The two-day event combined thrilling competition with a genuine sense of adventure: training sessions, qualifying rounds and finals, as well as networking and a supporting programme, brought perimeter security to life in a practical way and provided an opportunity for professional exchange within the industry.
Outstanding performances and a one-two finish in the height of summer
The Osnabrücker Land / DK Zaunsysteme Meisterbetrieb fencing team provided a particular highlight: with a one-two finish in the ‘Pro’ and ‘Team’ categories, the team impressively demonstrated just how crucial precision, experience and seamless teamwork are in fence construction. “Of course, we’d hoped to do well. But two first places – we hadn’t expected that. It makes us very proud as a whole team,” the company concluded. In the “Rookie” category for young talent, Matthias Wunder came out on top, underlining the high standard of the young specialists in fence construction.
A bridge between the trade fair, the skilled trades and the professional community
As a Presenting Partner, Perimeter Protection used the event to underline its role as a platform for professional exchange and cross-sector collaboration. The integration of the Fence-Building Championship into the ‘Connected Event’ concept specifically strengthens the link between the trade fair, the skilled trades and the professional community, and highlights just how crucial precise craftsmanship is for high-performance perimeter protection solutions.
“The Fence-Building Championship has impressively demonstrated just how much technical precision, craftsmanship and team spirit go into fence construction. As a ‘Connected Event’ organised by Perimeter Protection, it set new standards for combining practical application, competition and networking – and provided a strong impetus for the further development of the industry,” explains Hanna Schneider, a member of the Perimeter Protection organising committee.
A look ahead to the next industry event
With the successful 2026 Fence-Building Championship, the industry has impressively demonstrated its capabilities and innovative strength. The next key event for professional exchange and the presentation of the latest solutions has already been confirmed: Perimeter Protection – the leading trade fair for integrated perimeter security – will take place from 19 to 21 January 2027 at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre and will once again bring together experts, companies and decision-makers from the field of perimeter security.
